What does a piece of cardstock, a few strips of extra-thin masking tape, and some electronics have in common with a parking space? Unfortunately not much, but I can offer you a look at what those materials were used to create last week.

The builder's original idea was to use a paper towel roll as the body for the wand, but, in a tragic turn of events, they realized that there were none left. After some deliberation, we learned that we could instead roll up some cardstock to make an even more resillient wand of any length!
Then, the creator wrapped a piece of black construction paper around the wand body and decorated it with some extra-thin masking tape.
To defuse the light glow we scuffed up a plastic jar with sandpaper.

Then came the best part: the electronics. To get the warm, magical glow, we took incandescent bulb from an old flashlight toy.
The builder then wired everything together and (perfectly) seated a switch inside the wand casing.
