1970s drill press restoration
First tool restoration: rust removal, cleaning and repainting a 50-year-old press that now runs daily
The restored press, back on the bench
Someone was getting rid of this press and I was looking for one. As my first restoration I kept it simple: rust removal by submerging the large castings (the hard part was finding a container big enough), cleaning, and repainting a few parts. It runs well and should last a long time.
